Beer & Cheese Matching at the School of Artisan Food

29 January 2012 - 30 June 2012

Where better to explore the matches between those two exciting bedfellows, beer and cheese, than right next to where they have both been created?

Cheese-plateThe ever-delectable School of Artisan Food on the Welbeck Estate in Nottingham is hosting a series of half-day courses on this very topic, bringing together beers created across the paved courtyard at the Welbeck Abbey Brewery by talented young brewer Claire Monk with cheeses created by the School's dairy co-ordinator, Lee Anna Rennie.

A judge at the World Cheese Awards, Lee Anna keeps a herd of goats on the Welbeck Estate. This is your chance to traverse the country in terms of cheese, and match them to Clare's flavour-packed brews. Clare's favourite match at the moment? Her Portland Black beer with a runny sheeps' cheese. Mmmm!

During your visit, take advantage of the chance to visit the Estate's marvellous Farm Shop, inspiring Harley Gallery and tasty Limehouse Café.
