Simply the best...

DrinksDo you know a great Drinks Producer? I bet you do! You may even be one. Well now’s the chance to get them some serious recognition. But you’ll have to be quick. Nominations for this year’s BBC Food & Farming Awards close at midnight tonight, 27 Jan, so don’t delay.

Past winners have included Once Upon a Tree, the inspiring cider producer based in Herefordshire, the ever-creative, locally rooted Bristol Beer Factory, and Wye Valley Brewery, the community-driven family brewery.

The organisers say:

From pioneering brewers to traditional distillers, wine makers to juice producers. We want to hear about the people using carefully sourced ingredients and skill to produce an outstanding drink. From producers bringing new ideas to the world of drink, to businesses keeping traditions alive, tell us who deserves recognition in 2014.

The winners this year will be announced at a special food Festival that’s hitting Bristol in early May, I gather - more on that when I hear details.

Author Pete Brown is back on the judging panel this year - here’s what he has to say on his blog. As he says, the awards transform the lives of those who win them. So go on, make a difference - nominate someone today!
